Better Communication Practices Part 2

In a previous blog post, we discussed a few different things to keep in mind to make sure you’re communicating effectively with your league to ensure its success. This is because open communication between members is an immensely important part of every league. Here are a couple more tips to help out with that communication process:

Make sure everyone is on the same page
Sometimes, the individual knowledge each person has makes them take certain communications in a way differently than you may have intended. Parents and players will have different perceptions than you and different knowledge than you, so you need to keep an eye out for blocks in your communication that may mean they didn’t fully understand your message. Make sure to ask that everyone understands your instructions, communications, and intentions and to address any possible communication blocks you may encounter to keep communication open.
Streamline for simplicity
No one likes receiving 10 emails from the same person within a few hours, and you surely don’t like sending them. So, know when it’s pertinent to communicate and when it’s not so when you do, your message is paid attention to and not thought to be just another minor communication. Automated communication software can also help you streamline your communication process, like the communication software included in Manage Your League’s sports league management software.
