Summer organized sports have come to a close, meaning
autumn and fall sports are either in full swing or just starting up. One such
sport is ice hockey. If your kids play ice hockey, you may find yourself very
busy stocking up on the related equipment this time of year. However, there are
a lot of common mistakes people make when purchasing ice hockey equipment, and
we’ve laid out two of these common mistakes below so you can avoid them this
season.
Buying the right
skates – Unfortunately, as your child is rapidly growing you will have to
continue buying skates to accommodate their changing foot size. This is
incredibly important, as skates need to fit perfectly or else their ankles will
not be properly supported, their performance will be hindered and they will be
more susceptible to injury. So, though it may be irksome, you must always by
skates that fit your child well when they outgrow the old pair.
Buying the right
gloves – While skates are something you need to make sure to keep
up-to-date with, this isn’t the case with gloves. Gloves are surprisingly a
little more difficult to break in than gloves, so getting new gloves too
frequently will make it a lot more difficult for your child to get a handle of
their other equipment. So, let them get used to their gloves and only buy them
when they absolutely no longer fit.
